Chapter 12  The Church Year  -  Easter is more than just a feast of the Church, it is the "feast of feasts." The Easter Triduum fills the liturgical year with the light of the Resurrection.

 Chapter 5 - Two-Digit Subtraction    We will subtract 2-digit numbers without regrouping; to use mental math strategies to subtract ones or tens; to identify more than one way to write a number; to use models to regroup 1 ten as 10 ones; to subtract 2-digit numbers, with regrouping; to subtract one-digit numbers from two-digit numbers, with regrouping; estimate differences of two-digit numbers; rewrite two-digit subtraction from horizontal form to vertical form and subtract; to use addition to check subtraction; to practice subtraction with two-digit numbers, with and without regrouping; to solve chain operations involving addition and subtraction; to ask an addition or subtraction question to complete a math problem; to choose the most efficient computational method  to add or subtract- mental math or paper and pencil;

Lesson 1- (pp. 232 - 243) How Can People Use Natural Resources?

Lesson 2 - (pp. 244-253) - How Can People Harm Natural Resources?

Lesson 1- Producers and Consumers - Identify and explain the roles of a producer and a consumer.  Describe how goods and services are related to business.  Recognize how producers are also consumers.

Unit 22 - (pp. 144-149)  Most of the words have the same vowel sound as in boot or the same vowel sound as in took.

Spelling Words -boot, took, new, moon, blew, book, soon, grew, foot, room, you, who, look, good, shampoo, balloon, and 2 chosen words.

Friday - Spelling Test - We will have dictation sentences.

 Spelling City - The children may go to Spelling City to practice our spelling words.  On our shared second grade website (the first page), go to Educational Links, under Spelling click on Spelling City.  Once you're there, click on the blue tab Find A List.  In Enter Search Term, type Kathy Bechtold  On the next screen, click on my name "Kathy Bechtold".  Then click on the current spelling unit.  Have Fun!!
