    Poetry Day - Friday, March 26 -  Memorize a poem.  Recite it in class.  Tell the name and the author and why you selected the poem.  NO "Roses are Red".

Spelling

Unit 25 - pp. 162 - 167 - This lesson teaches the concept of compound words.  Children learn the strategy of thinking of some long words as being made up of two shorter words that have familiar spelling patterns.

Test on Friday.  Dictation will be given.

Spelling City - The children may go to Spelling City to practice our spelling words.  On our shared second grade website (the first page), go to Educational Links, under Spelling click on Spelling City.  Once you're there, click on the blue tab Find A List.  In Enter Search Term, type Karen Lasich.  On the next screen, click on my name "Karen Lasich".  Then click on the current spelling unit.  Have Fun!!
