Oral Reports (2010 - 2011)

(Please keep in a handy place.  This sheet is an activity guide.)

On Friday, October 1, 2L will have their first Oral Report.  On one Friday each month we will do our presentations - with the exception of October.  We will give two reports in October.  Every student will have the opportunity to give a mini-speech (not more than a minute or so) in front of the class.  A subject will be given, and you may be creative in the way it is presented to the class.  We will emphasize speaking clearly and being a good listener.  A grade will be given.

You will prepare four things to tell about your assigned subject.  You will help our class learn new and interesting things.  Include visual aids if you wish.  You MUST bring in a picture where it is indicated in the assignment.  I want you to “present” your report.  It should not be read. You may use 3 x 5 note cards with key words to help you remember.  Nine (9) opportunities to give a speech will be given throughout the year.  You are allowed to pass once, or do all nine speeches.

Remember!  These are mini-speeches.  They are not to last longer than a minute or two.  This is intended to be a fun activity. A mini presentation skills “seminar” will be conducted before the oral reports will begin.  Be creative!!

Following are the topics and dates for the speeches.
