My name is Martha Minchey.  I have been teaching third grade at St. Edward's since 1997.   Math is my favorite subject to teach. 

My philosophy of education is to provide a nurturing environment where students can learn, grow, and become responsible for themselves and their choices.  I believe in communication and cooperation with parents to create success for each student.  Routines, structure, and organization paired with choices, fun, and engaging activities are the building blocks for a true learning environment.

I recently got married, but I'm keeping the Minchey name.  My new husband's name is Kenn Littles.  My daughter, Caroline Grace is in St. Edward's third grade with Mrs. Guinn this year.  Our family isn't complete without the beagles – Petey, Maisy, Albert, and the terrier terror - Abbey.  

My favorite author is Pat Conroy, author of Beach Music and Prince of Tides.  Another favorite of mine is the Outlander series of books by Diana Gabaldon.  My favorite TV show is Jeopardy!  I also love Lost, Scrubs, Mad Men, and Grey's Anatomy.  I collect Steiff bears and Snoopy.

I am a huge fan of Flylady.  She's an online coach who teaches how to have balance in life by encouraging a peaceful, clutter-free home, positive thinking, good nutrition, spiritual growth, and time for family, friends, and fun.   I highly recommend her website to anyone.   She has lots of great information about keeping kids organized, too.  It's free!  Check it out!

These are my beagles.  Albert is the one on the floor, Petey is to my right, Maisy is on my left in the back and Biscuit (who is no longer with us) is up front.  Man, was it hard to get all four of them to sit still!!
