Development 

Development is the meaningful involvement of people in the mission and vision for the future of St. Edward Church and School.  The main role of the development office is to facilitate this involvement.  Jackie Smithson, Development Director is committed and dedicated to not only sustain the established involvement but to inspire others to join our efforts.   Development is the responsibility of all members of the school, parish and community.

Annual Giving Fund

The AGF is one of St. Edward School’s largest sources of support.  It begins during the first semester that the children are back in school.  Our goal is 100% participation through prayers and financial support from parents, faculty and staff.  Parishioners without children attending the school are also encouraged to participate.  We appreciate your prayers if you are unable to participate financially. 

Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Education is celebrated during the last week in January by participating in a variety of different spiritual, fun, and service-oriented activities each day of the week. Since 1974, Catholic Schools Week has been an annual national celebration recognizing the important role that Catholic elementary and secondary schools across the country play in providing a quality education for America’s young people. It celebrates education that goes beyond preparation for a secular life, emphasizing the spiritual and moral values necessary to live a Christian life.  The development office helps support the school's activities during this week and promotes Catholic Education.

This weekly eblast keeps those signed up to receive emails informed of church and school happenings and events.  If you have not signed up to be on the email list please do so and you will start receiving this e-newsletter weekly. 

 Alumni Association

Alumni are so important to the development of a Catholic school.  The development office understands that our success greatly depends upon the alum base.  We encourage all former students of St. Edward to join the alumni association by contacting the development office by email jsmithson@stedward.org or by phone (615)833-3447.  Be sure to sign up and be a part of our email list so we can keep you up to date on your classmates, reunions, planning, and development of St. Edward. 

Financial Support

The development office is here to assist the Home and School Association and Booster Club in their fundraising efforts which accomplish so much for St. Edward School.  We also receive funding from generous friends of our church and school which allow us to accomplish our mission and to ensure our future vision.  We appreciate their dedication to and investment in our children.  The fundraising efforts of our church and school are outlined on a seperate webpage titled "Fundraising".

Community Needs

The development office is also here to assist our community with their needs.  We are happy to promote and work with other organization's efforts to provide assistance where it is needed in our community.  Please check out the page devoted to our community needs for opportunities to help in a variety of ways.  If you are aware of a community need or an effort that is ongoing, please contact our office so that we may be of assistance.  We also post job opportunities that have been forwarded to us so that we may provide that information to those seeking employment.

The Development Office is a committed advocate of St. Edward Church and School.  We seek individuals and groups who believe in our mission, vision, goals and values and secure the financial support needed to sustain and thrive through grants, scholarships, endowments, and planned giving.
