Janet Wilgenbusch

After moving from Cedar Rapids, IA with her family-husband Steve, 2 sons and 2 daughters (twins), Janet came to work at St. Edward School where she was a educational assistant in both our PreK and Kindergarten programs. She also served as a substitute teacher for over two years until she was persuaded to join the parish office staff where she serves as Accounting Clerk. Prior to moving to Nashville, Janet ran an in-home daycare for 10 years and served as Daycare Director in All Saints School in Cedar Rapids. Janet also has 4 beautiful grandchildren, 2 boys and 2 girls. She and her husband, Steve, are very active in our parish, but when she has the time she enjoys spending time with her grandkids, traveling, reading and playing golf. Their son Luke is a seminarian for the diocese of Nashville and is currently studying in Rome. Janet assists both the parish and school in addition to all the faculty and staff.

Summer Kindle

Summer Kindle is celebrating her one year anniversary in the Parish Office this year as Parish Office Assistant. She is the “sunshine” in our office with her cheerful and energetic personality. Prior to joining the Parish Staff in early 2016, Summer was part of our School Staff. She began working at St. Edward in the fall of 2014 as a Preschool Educational Assistant after her move from Louisville, KY with her family. She is originally from West Virginia. Summer is blessed to be married to her best friend and with three amazing sons. Originally from West Virginia, she began her career in the medical field as a CT Technologist for 11 years. When her youngest son entered Kindergarten, Summer began teaching Preschool in Louisville until she joined St. Edward when the family was relocated and the boys were enrolled in St. Edward School. Call on Summer when you need to update your contact information, have questions about Mass times, activities and events, want to join the parish or need any additional information about St. Edward. She will happily help you or direct you in the right direction.

Jackie Smithson

Jackie Smithson joined St. Edward as Director of Development in 2006, bringing with her a background in education and logistics. She was known to many at St. Edward as Miss Jackie, Kindergarten teacher, from her previous employment as an educator in our school during the 1990’s. Jackie left education to pursue a career in the business world. She was a project manager for a logistics department in a large retail chain. During this time, Jackie volunteered for a local nonprofit, sat on their board and chaired a department.  It was throughout these years that she really became interested in nonprofit work including event planning and fundraising. Desiring to return to Catholic education, Jackie brought all she learned in the corporate world and in her nonprofit work putting it to use for the greater good of St. Edward Church and School. Jackie is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is currently continuing her education for certification as Certified Fund Raising Executive. She has also participated as a member of the stewardship committee for the Diocese of Nashville. Call on Jackie to assist you with becoming involved with St. Edward, whether it is through a financial gift, annual or planned giving, organizing a community or fundraising event, volunteering your skills and time, or communicating all the great things about our church and school. When not “developing”, Jackie likes spending time with her husband, six children and two furry children. She also enjoys camping, gardening and trips to the beach.
