The Healing Ministry Committee of St. Edward Parish is  dedicated to serving those in need of healing physically, mentally, or  spiritually.  Our goal is to reach out to parishioners in need and let them know  that the church is lifting them up in prayer.  Father Strange as spiritual  leader of this committee will provide visits to parishioners and anointing of  the sick as well.  The committee members meet once monthly for planning of the  annual healing mass and to organize other events to help educate and comfort  those in need.  The ministry also has “praying only” members who receive  requests for prayer and contact parish members based on the request made.  This might include an email, card, or phone contact.

Type of Volunteer Service needed:

Healing Ministry Committee Member - attend committee meetings  once a month for one hour in the evening.  Assist in planning annual healing  mass and help organize other services around serving those in need of healing.   Participate in the healing mass in one of several ways such as distribution of  bulletin, providing snacks, and bringing up gifts.

Healing Ministry Praying Member - receive request for prayer.  Respond by email/letter/prayer/phone message (based on preference of
those  requesting prayer) to parishioner to let them know that the healing ministry  will be praying for them.  Prayer requests will usually be 1 to 5
times  monthly.
