Our Mission: To alleviate stress and provide comfort and prayer to grieving families by providing a meal after the funeral Mass. Grief struck by the loss of a loved one and flooded with emotions, families still have the tasks of making many decisions, necessary arrangements and contacting various individuals.
The Bereavement Ministry hopes to alleviate some of the family’s stress. After a funeral, it is customary for family and friends of the deceased to come together and share a meal to celebrate the life of their loved one. The Bereavement Ministry can provide this meal.
This service is provided to St. Edward parishioners only and is free of charge. Donations are accepted and will be used to provide the main part of the meal as well as paper goods. Our Ministry can always use volunteers to provide the following:- Prayer for the family and the repose of the soul of the deceased
- Organizing the parts of the meal (i.e. making calls and getting volunteers)
- Providing additional meal items, such as side dishes, desserts, and beverages
- Set up and clean up for the meal
