Confirmation

Preparation for Confirmation is incorporated into our PREP program. Confirmation will be held Sunday, April 21st, at 3:30 p.m. at the Catholic Pastoral Center. 

Candidates:

To be confirmed, one must

• Be a baptized person who has not been confirmed
• Be suitably instructed, properly disposed, and able to renew the baptismal promises.
• Present a certificate of Baptism, if the sacrament was received in another parish
• Choose a name that is traditionally Christian. (It is preferred that they keep their baptismal name instead of choosing an additional name.)
• Write a letter to the bishop or pastor indicating readiness and desire to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Sponsors:

To be a sponsor Confirmation candidate, one must

• Be designated by the candidate, by the candidate’s parents (or legal guardian), or in their absence by the pastor or minister, and must have the intention of being a sponsor. The sponsor may be male or female.
• Be the baptismal sponsor, if possible.
• Be at least 16 years or age
• Be a Catholic who has been confirmed and practices the faith.
